Welcome to the Groomsport Digital Archive.
The archive aims to preserve the history of the Village and its people.
It will have information about the rich history of Groomsport, including the voyage of the Eagle Wing, the Maxwell family (who were the landowners until the 1920s) and the important buildings of the village.
The archive has six sections:
We also want the archive to contain the stories and memories of those who live in the village today.
If you have photographs of family members or of events, we would love for you to let us scan them and place them in the archive to preserve them. If you have stories, or memories of Groomsport in earlier times we would love to record your stories – on video, or on audio – and place the recordings in the archive.
